Dance/Movement Therapy

Dance/Movement Therapy

Dance/movement therapy is a method of psychological treatment in which movement and dance are used as tools to express and deal with feelings and experiences, both positive and negative. It helps the individual to engage creatively in a process to further their emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration.

It is practised as both individual and group therapy and with a wide variety of clients including people who are emotionally distressed, people with learning difficulties, those with physical or medical illnesses and people who want to use the medium for personal growth.

Sarah has carried out sessions with children at the 'Grundschule am Rüdesheimer Platz' and has completed a 4-month dance therapy placement at 'Schlosspark Klinik Charlottenburg'. As research for her final thesis, Sarah has carried out a ten-week pilot study with children on the autism spectrum.

Currently, Sarah is carrying out dance/movement therapy sessions with children and youths on the autism spectrum, with people with dementia and alzheimers and in various special school settings. She also works at a private practice with children, teens and adults.

One-to-one therapy is also available upon request.

Therapy languages: German, English and Maltese.
